Taking a small piece of a larger object can tell a different story as well

I headed to Union Station right around Christmas to photograph the light on the Wynkoop side of the building

While in San Francisco I was walking towards the Ferry Terminal to catch a boat to Alameda when I noticed the 101 California building in the late afternoon light

I watched in awe of the force of the waves but also used that time to see where the waves were breaking

First Sunrise of 2012 in Denver Size:16"x20" Taking a small piece ofThe start of a new year is usually marked by sleeping in late due to the celebration from the prior night heading into the early hours of January 1st. To start off 2012, I fought the urge to sleep in and woke up in time to capture the first sunrise over Denver. As I waited for the sun to rise it was obvious people were still heading home after a long night, however like myself they were treated to the clouds lighting this first morning of 2012.
